Battersea Park Primary School

Open Practice has recently completed a new entrance building for a Primary School in South London. The new design replaces the dark and uninspiring entrance with a new light-filled reception and meeting room under two pyramid-shaped roofs.

The original school was built in the 1970s and was a forerunner in its design, with direct access from the classrooms to shared outdoor spaces and the architects created timber framed parabolic roofs for each of the classrooms. The new building is intended to complement the original building, whilst creating a modern and inviting entrance.
